बन्यजन्तुको तस्करी गर्ने पक्राउ

काठमाडौँ र देशका विभिन्न भागबाट दुर्लभ वन्यजन्तुको अवैध सङ्कलन तथा बिक्री गरेको आरोपमा स्वयम्भूबाट प्रहरीले एक व्यक्तिलाई पक्राउ गरेको छ ।
पक्राउ पर्नेमा रसुवा जिल्ला स्याब्रो निवासी पेमा तामाङ रहेका छन् । पक्राउ परेका तामाङबाट पाण्डाको तीन थान छाला समेत बरामद गरेको महानगरीय अपराध अनुसन्धान महाशाखाले जनाएको छ ।
महाशाखाका अनुसार तामाङले दुर्लभ पाण्डाको छाला बिक्रीका लागि मोलमोलाइ गरिरहेको अवस्थामा प्रहरीले पक्रेको हो ।

यसैगरी महाशाखाले अत्यन्त खोजी गरिएका व्यक्तिको सूचिमा रहेका प्रज्ज्वल ताम्राकारलाई आजै पुतलीसडकबाट पक्राउ गरेको छ । पक्राउ परेका ताम्राकार २०६१ सालमा उज्ज्वल जोशीको हत्या गरी फरार रहेको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ ।
घटना भएको ६ वर्षसम्म काठमाडौँमा लुकिछिपी हिँडेको अवस्थामा प्रहरीले उनलाई पक्राउ गरेको हो ।

Grey-necked Bunting: latest addition to Nepal's bird list

Bird study in Nepal continues to be an exciting subject. On a recent bird watching trip to Sukla Phanta Wildlife Reserve, the far west Nepal, two young birdwatchers Anish Timsina and Dheeraj Chaudhary have recorded yet another new species of bird for Nepal. This new bird record marks up the country's total as 867 bird species.

Anish Timsina and Dheeraj Chaudhary while bird watching roughly 7 km away from Reserve headquarter Majhgaon near Pipariya found an unusual looking sparrow like bird. They photographed the bird with their digital camera and later consulted with Dr Hem Sagar Baral for identification. The bird appeared to be a new record for the country and Dr Baral tentatively identified the species as Grey-necked Bunting. This record was immediately submitted to Nepal Rare Birds Committee and now has been officially accepted as a new bird to the country.
